Is this a gag? does anyone have a "zip" yet?
Went to look at USFA single actions online last night and was redirected to this odd (but interesting looking) little pistol. Does anyone have one of these? Watching the videos on the sites homepage, I was expecting to find out it was some kind of gag or something. If you have one...what are your thoughts? Range report? |

I've seen this mentioned on these forums before, perhaps in the general firearms or general handgun, but I think it was intended to mount onto an AR under the barrel. Though practicality seems questionable as a stand alone or otherwise.

Problem is when it is attached to your AR-15, it becomes a SBR and ATF approval.

mounted under an AR for what exactly? To shoot them with smaller less powerful bullets in case the bigger more powerful ones wont do the job?
I could maybe understand intended use for varmints under a 6.8SPC or similar AR but the accuracy for varmint sized game from that little contraption does not compute. |

In the very back of my brain, tucked behind my love of all things traditional in firearms...I have a spot for weird, oddball and forgotten weapons. If they shoot accurately, this strange, fugly little feller could find it's way into my safe Strictly for use as a pistol...maybe with some kind of micro dot sight. Just something different to take to the range for fun and be a "what the heck is that thing?" conversation starter
I have a boat load of 10/22 magazines so that end of it makes sense. And a MSRP of $199.99 (probably sell for $189.99) isn't too bad if it shoots well and isn't a jam'o'matic The application for using this thing as an add on for any rifle would be laughably pointless. |

The video is ridiculous....as is the idea of SBRing this thing...but it gets the point across of how its held to shoot. The gun is the grip |

The grandfather of a friend owned a 7mm Mauser he had picked up in Mexico that had been used by guards at a Mexican prison. The Mauser had a .22 rimfire autoloader mounted under the 7mm barrel.
They would use the .22 rf to break up fights, their version of a less than lethal weapon, and if the prisoners did not desist they'd plug them with the 7mm. |

I'm sure that "what-ever ya' call it" will be as popular as DARDICK was in it's day. Anybody here, old enough to know what that was?

I'd say it's a very well-made gag except I can't tell what model it's based on (0:15 in BerdanSS link). Bullpup 22 pistol. And the SBRing is icing

The price is right, but the gun is bizarre.
As for a second, weaker caliber in something like an AR15 or other rail system gun, there are a lot of multiple caliber guns through time and so it might be handy and a secondary caliber for dispatching wounded game that would not add a great amount of weight to your rifle (though the SBR thing applies as noted), but that would be a rather extreme suggested practical use. I keep thinking I want one, but the controls are downright scary being located by the muzzle and there isn't any practial way to carry it currently.

For anyone who wants one, you can order them here.
I still think the name is horrible(where I'm from, a zip gun is a cheaply made gun; usually made from scrap material found around town, that's designed to specifically commit crimes then tossed) and it seems so impractical in every way. The only rational purpose I've seen for this is what Double Naught Spy said and I don't think a 22 would be even decent for finishing off game that something larger couldn't do at range. How did I forget the link?? Gallery of Guns

On an AR it doesn't make much sense. Possibly if suppressed.
On a shotgun it might make more sense. May be a great action to build mounted guns on. What are regulations for pistols permanently attached to your body? SyFy? Battletech costume with blanks? The stupidity is practically unlimited. |

Sorry..so so sorry...I'm hooked... I'll be ordering one my next available chance.
I don't know what it is...I just have a small thing for weird, cheap little guns. I guess it's a subconscious offset to my obsession for extremely high quality ones. Full range report as soon as I get one....shortly followed by spray bombing it camouflage |

Just looked into the promotional material for this. Atrocious. This thing is being marketed to idiots.
I still want one, so maybe I am an idiot. At $200 I can't go wrong, if it works. SBRing it at $400 and it might not be so bad either. Like others i already have 10/22 mags and all. |

It is kind of an enigma. It has potential to be really nifty or really terrible. I don't think this will be a middle of the road sort of gun. If the reports are good, I won't be far behind you in ordering.

Dude. You can mount an EOtech on the top and a small grenade launcher on the bottom. Hell with green lazors.

I know I have seen a safety notice about it to law enforcement officers so they will recognize it as what it is "a firearm" and not the toy that it looks like.

I'd much rather have a Grendel P30 or the latest version of that gun than this. 30 rounds of .22 magnum in side of a magazine that actually fits into a gun that is less bulky than this one.
I'd like it better if it was made of polished billet aluminum with more serrations and tacti-holes milled into it. |
