458 Socom and 450 Marlin...same bullets?

I'm finally getting into reloading and had a question about 458 socom bullets vs 450 marlin bullets. Both are .458" in diameter, does this mean I can use the same bullet for both rounds with just different cases and load amounts? Thanks for the help

I could not find your 450 socom in any of my loading manuals but I can tell you this.... not all .458 bullets are the same. Some are just to long and will not fit in the magazine when crimped at the channeler. I have a 450 marlin and use hornaday 350gr #4503 or 4502. Just didn't want you to wast money as i did.

Yes, they use the same bullets. However, not all bullets in a given diameter will work in all rifles.

I use the same Remington 405g JSP in both my 458 socom and 45-70. You can seat much longer if your 458 is a bolt action, used as a single shot as you have no magizine limits.
