ATI/RIA 1911 difference?

Just a baisc 1911 under $450 whats the deal with them? Saw some videos/reviews looked okay no deadly problems I know of.
Has Taurus really spent more on shipping customers their firearms back to them than actual sales?

Both are good, entry level 1911s.

Rock Island has the better customer service, by far ... if you ever need it.

My RIA 1911 has been a solid performer....not one problem. Only thing I did not like when I bought it were the grips. I had a set of grips I took off another gun when I upgraded it and put them on the RIA. Looks good, shots good. What else could one ask for?

The RIAs have almost a "cult" following and, as Aguila Blanca observed, good customer service.
Jim's Rules of Carry: 1. Any gun is better than no gun. 2. A gun that is reliable is better than a gun that is not. 3. A hole in the right place is better than a hole in the wrong place. 4. A bigger hole is a better hole.

no guns = might makes right

Having just picked up a ria compact I am very impressed with the fit and form of it. Thus far I have not had any type of failures although I have only put about 50 rounds through it.

i have a RIA tactical and its a great gun....they are made in phillipines by Armscor which makes high quality firearms...they've been in business for a very long time and supply the military's as well as reg consumers in that part of world plus have been importing all over world as well.....i bought my first armscor over 20 years ago when i was like 10...still got it

As for ATI i bought their Beretta 92 centurion clone which i am extremely impressed with...beretta parts are even interchangeable with it..but i have no experience with their 1911 style import...only thing i've heard is they were good quality guns and the gripes i heard were about them getting shipped with crappy mags

RIA 1911

I have an RIA 1911 and I really like it. It does what any $1,000.00 to $3,000.00 dollar 1911 will do (put bullets where you look, everytime) for less than $500.00 dollars. What more can you ask?? Buy ammo and shoot (a lot) with the money you save, or buy two and have twice as much fun (and still shoot a lot)
