how to disassemble my 870

i have a home defense 870 with tube extension and can't seem to get it apart. i tried to unscrew the cap like on my wingmaster but no dice.

please help!

p.s. i looked in the manual and it shows how to break down a non extention shotgun. went to the online site and didn't find any info there either.

If it's a factory extension, there is a clamp that will need to come off first. That's a large straight screwdriver.
The tube unscrews like your Wingmaster cap. Sometimes the tube will come off and the nut will remain. The nut is what is holding the barrel just like the cap on your Wingmaster.
It really is the same except for the clamp.

Yup. You may need to use the rag-wrap and pliers method. Once you get it apart, use a little CLP or lube of choice on the threads to make it easier next time.
The nut should be tight enough to hold the barrel securely but the clamp will hold the extension on and prevent it from unscrewing.
