new toy shooter today
I picked up my son's new plinking shooter from my lgs today
a stainless barrel synthetic stock 10/22 takedown model. cant wait to show it to him.

That will be a keeper.... I think about all the takedowns I could have bought... and wish I had bought them all.

Many years ago I bought a Marlin Papoose or some such takedown, I don't recall it working very well. Was a real PITA to take down and reassemble and couldn't hold zero with the scope once it was taken down. Not very accurate but I had a lot of fun with it, pretty sure I gave it to a buddy to teach his daughter to shoot on.
Obviously haven't shot the ruger yet, but was a breeze to set up. Take down and reassembly is super easy. cool backpack style bag.. Like all 10/22s it seems well made and finished. Got the silly stickers of the furniture and installed the supplied scope rail. Little pricey considering I paid $160 otd for the last 10/22 I bought but if its like the last several decades 10/22s it'll outlast me. Now to find the best inexpensive scope for it....
