difference in powder
I have found a good deal on some h4831 powder and i was wandering if its a good powder for ,,lets say a 7mm mag. I use a lot of imr powders. I use imr 4831 for my rem. 700 bdl and it works great. Was wandering if i could get similar results with the h4831 powder using its load data. Anyone experiment with these two powders. im pretty stuck on imr powder, but if i can get the same results out of the other powder at a cheaper price ??? thanks

I've used H4831 for .300 Win Mag with excellent results. One of the things I like about the Hodgdon version is you can get it short cut to give a little more density. I haven't tried IMR vs Hodgdon side by side but have had good success with both in a variety of calibers. I can say this - the Hodgdon load for .300 Win Mag I used chronographed at the velocity published in the load data. I can't say that for all loads I've used and tested with a chrony.

im sorry , i meant the listed charge for the h4831. NOT using the listed charge from imr 4831 and using h4831 , just trying to compare the two.
