Question about IMR 4227
I was shooting my 357 magnum loads with 15.3 gr IMR 4227 and sierra 158 gr jhc on a winchester magnum primer. I noticed that it almost looks like sparks shooting out from the cylinder gap, which I am assuming is specks of burning powder.
I noticed that this doesn't happen with h110. Is this something to be concerned about? Could it be damaging my gun or dangerous? |

I've seen this happen with h110 also. Could happen with any of the fine powders like these, and sometimes noticing it is simply a matter of the light conditions when you are shooting, or the particular load you are using. Try the dark sometime.
It's for damned sure dangerous if you hold your hand up where it can catch the flame. jd

jdscholer pretty much covered it. It's a big slow powder. Lots of odd stuff is gonna happen. Even more so if you move to lighter bullets (which is pointless, actually).
