AK Optic Mount

I have a Vortex dot that I have mounted on a Saiga Ak. A pin that keeps it from sliding at the back broke tacking some metal with it. We are talking 50rds. I would like to have a better quick release mount. Any ideas?

someday

When I get around to putting an optic on an AK, I'm gonna try the Texas Dog leg top rail. The Ultimak is choice #2.

I am currently using this mount on my converted Saiga 7.62x39 for a Bushnell TRS-25. It is rock solid and does not loose zero when removed for cleaning.

I have the Texas weapon systems dog leg rail with an eotech 512 on my Zastava pap m70. I like it a lot.
