Hazmat fees are a killer. I can by Winchester local $13.50 plus tax. Best part is I don't have to store em. The last time I bought a bunch of primers, I got ripped. Some of the hundred packs inside stairsteped and I only got 800 in 2 cartons in the same case. These were factory sealed cases of 5000. Ordered 15,000 got 14,600 , not a huge deal. I split with a friend and neither of us had ever seen such a thing. It's been 3 or 4 years since I bought them...Paid $10.00 and large were $10.50.

This is just a suggestion guys. Being a typical middle class semi-cheapo who is getting taxed to death, I try to save some money where I can. Some buddies and I formed a buyers club of sorts. First, we struck up a friendly business relationship with a guy that sells reloading supplies and comes to town (Tucson) for the bigger gun shows three times a year. Then we pool our money and buy in big quantities. The last thing we did was 20,000 Winchester primers. It came out to $55 per 5000. We can't find them anywhere else for less than $65 plus haz mat and shipping. We also get great deals on bulk bullets and powder this way.
Like I said, just a suggestion. |
