Saw you haven't gotten any posts yet so I thought I would add some thought. I am not an expert by any definition. My firearms instructor stated this to me before:
I suggest the CQB Solutions brand in whatever flavor you like. I personally like just a plain old three point sling. Forget a single point. That load is more comfortable supported across your back. |

Standard GI nylon sling. I can go from shoulder mounted to on target and shooting about as fast as most can do the same with a handgun from a holster.
Faster if it's very close range hip shooting.

I need one for general GI use. Durable, and able to go over the shoulder and be at the ready or slung behind across the back.

Striker, may I suggest something simple and inexpensive?
All of my AR-15's carry the venerable M1903A3/M1 Garand/M14 canvas web sling, as issued in olive drab. They're quiet, comfortable, and easy to adjust for either over-the-shoulder or as a hasty sling to tighten up the shooting stance. The extra bonus is, they don't cost an arm and leg, either!

Thanks Gew98,
But I need a sling that holds the rifle in front at the ready, but still be able to use both hands. |

Speaking of Wilderness and CQB slings, ...I realize that the Wilderness sells their GO pack for their sling, but does anyone here know if it will work on a CQB sling? Also, any comments on the use of the pack? I've always thought the GO pack would be a nice accessory and handy way of having a 20 rounder on the gun, ala the shotgun sidesaddle. Sure, it negates using it weakhanded comfortably, but could probably be pressed into duty. I have a Giles sling on my Rem870 but the CQB on my AR carbine, and would really like to put the GO pack on it if it would work. Any info would be appreciated.
