9mm to .38 Super conversion
Guys, I purchased a STI Spartan III in 9mm recently. I had an idea of converting it to 3 Super so I did a lil research and come up with this blog http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...uper-part-one/
I haven't found the continuation yet, but decided to give the folks at Bar Sto a call to determine whether it could be done or not. They said they could in fact turn me a non-bushing bull barrel to fit the slide. So, I'm thinking it can be done, but had a few other questions. I've read about possible feeding issues. Does the barrel need to be ramped? Also, would the spring assembly from the same gun chambered in 45 be a good swap to tame the Supers' greater recoil over the 9mm? Are there any other issues other than extractor work that might need to be addressed? |
