6.5X55mm. Was I seeing things?
Did I see surplus 'sa-vee-dish' 6.5X55 in green plastic battle packs circa early 1980s? I know the 7.62X51, (.308 ), came that way.
Anyone in the crowd know more than I about cost & availablilty of quality surplus 6.5X55 ammo? Thanks. |

The only surplus I've seen on the market in a long time is the wooden bullet blank. Some folks pull the bullets and powder then use the primed cases to load their own.

When I bought a surplus M96 carbine in 1982 it came with 200 rounds in a green, hermetically sealed plastic container - actually 2 of them

Surplus 6.5X55 has dried up, unfortunately. But yes, it came in green plastic battle packs. I have a partial one left in the garage.
On edit, Google found me a photo here: http://www.gunauction.com/buy/701487...all-battle-pac Last edited by emcon5; January 22, 2013 at 10:58 PM. |
