Ok, I need some instructions on Installing a new Mainspring Housing and extended slide release on my colt 1991a1 I got the Wilson Checkered arched Model. Part #92ba and the extended slide is the glass bead blue Part #7b I have never realy worked on my colt before, except to put on a wilson Full lenth gide rod, So will I need to take this to a Smith? What tools are needed? On the slide realease it says "minor fitting required" is this a problem?

Skip the part about stripping the slide, and then it will show you how to remove and replace the mainspring housing.

As to the slide stop, Just replace it and see if it works and fits correctly in the slot in the frame, as it should. If it fits too tightly, use some emery cloth or 600 grit sandpaper on the pin that goes into the frame. If the slide doesn't lock back on an empty mag, it isn't rightand the complicated part may need to be relieved so it does not bind on the frame. Do not change the funny little angles.
