hornady critical defense cartridges
I bought 2 boxes of Hornady 357mag 125 grain FTX Critical Defense rounds. It is the only 357mag I have been able to find. Looking at the cartridges, it is hard to tell what they are made of. They dont look to be brass, and they dont feel like Aluminum. Their website, states that its Shiny silver nickel plating. I think they are talking about the cartridges, the bullets dont appear to have that.
Just curious if anyone knows, what type of metal these are, and has anyone ever reloaded those cartridges? I not worried about fireing the ammo while its new. I am more curious if I can reload it after. Thank you Jay |

Nickel plated brass. They reload fine, but tend to be a bit more brittle than straight brass. Check for cracks after a couple reloadings.

Thank you, just wanted to be sure. I will check them up close after fireing.
Thanks again Jay |
