reminton screws

I wonder If someone knows the thread type of remington guard screws and if its likely I could find a replacement at a hardware store.

Brownells says most Remington guard screws are 1/4-28.

Not a common hardware store size, and I wouldn't bother looking, especially as the chances of getting the right head are nil. Order from Brownells (www.brownells.com) or Gun Parts Corp (www.gunpartscorp.com).
