CA, Bay Area Gathering: Monday, June 3rd, 2002
I am happy to announce a gathering of SF Bay Area Shooters at:
Reed's Indoor Range 1100 Duane Ave, Santa Clara (408) 970-9870 Monday, June 3rd, 6:30 - 9:00 PM (close) Directions: Take Hiway 101 to Santa Clara (South from SF, North from San Jose) Exit San Tomas Expressway (East) ...Immediately get into left-most lane.... Turn Left onto Scott ...stay in left lane... Turn left onto Jay ...hooks to the right and becomes Duane (Frontage Road to 101)... Reed's is down about half a mile on the Right Side Notes: This is an informal get-together. The current plan is to meet once a month. Location may vary if enough people protest - I must say, Reed's is worth checking out if you have yet to visit. Meeting on the First Monday of each month seems easy to remember - sorry if this presents a recurring conflict for anyone. I've been informed that Monday nights are very quiet at Reed's, which would provide us with the ability to use more adjoining lanes. No steel or aluminum casings are allowed. Rifles are allowed if in a Pistol Caliber. This is a well-lit 25 yard indoor range, 20 lanes. $15/hour for two people, $10 for singles. Reed's seems generous with the definition of 'hour'. Fully stocked store with ammo, and anything else you might need. Nice folks. Looking forward to meeting some of you in person! Best Regards, -steve ('sven') Last edited by sven; May 29, 2002 at 08:23 PM. |

Sven, You have a good idea. I'll try to make it but can't promise tonight. Maybe we could get some competition going on Mondays!

Competition sounds fun - if you aren't there tonight, perhaps we can meet on the First Monday in July (July 1).

Is "SF Bay Area Shooters" a formal club with, or informal..
-> If it's formal how can I become a member, if it's
informal are all Bay Area TFL members welcome? I live in the South Bay area (North San Jose)..

It's very informal, and all are welcome. First Mondays of the month is still our plan, so mark your calender.
What will you bring to shoot, if I might ask? -s |

Right.
This time I won't bug out early. When does this usually start, BTW? Last time I had to beat feat at 6:30, and I only got to talk to Justin. 7-ish? 8-ish? Bringing a .45 ACP Broomhandle, a .45 ACP ADC Model 1, a .45 ACP Webley Mk. IV, and a either a CZ-50 or a Colt 1903. I think my buddy's going to bring his Steyr GB and something else, but I don't know what. Also bringing a couple of new-ish shooters. DSP high mucky-mucks. And hopefully a few videotapes. Gotta go poke the folks. See if they got the new master made yet. Here's hoping. I'm tired of waiting. Y'all better be there.

Reply to Sven on what I will be brining..
-> I'll be bringing my:
(1.) Colt King Cobra - 4" (2lb trigger) rear adjustable sights are currently knocked way out of allignment, need to dial in... (2.) Glock 17 (3.) Ruger MK II - 6" (4.) Smith & Wesson SW40VE - 4" (5.) Smith & Wesson 5906 - 4" might bring (6.) Smith & Wesson 28-2 - 4" (Highway Patrolman) might bring ---> I just bought a used HK USP 45 tonight, as it was almost like new! It only had a small amount of visable wear on the top of the barrel. Very low-round USP.. Box, papers, manual, 2 10 round magazines. - It was about $$ 225 less than the new ones, so I snatched it up.. I won't be able to start the DOJ paperwork until August 28th - as I bought one within the last 30 days.

HRG:
Show starts at 7. Close is 9. Bring tapes - if possible... new masters or old. Love your site. Are _you_ Target Guy? I'd buy a DSP jersey, only I'm saving for my OWN .45. Cheers, -s |

You blew my cover!
Oh, the embarrasement. Smearing the twisted side of my existence around for all to point and stare at.
Yes, it is indeed I, the Illustrious Target Guy. No-one else is that idiotic! Told the forum once, with mixed results. Kaliforny lunacy is sometimes beyond mere mortal understanding. http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/...ght=target+guy 'Member that e-mail you sent me? Yer on the list of people I'm supposed to talk to. We Have Need Of One Such As You. Prepare. You Will Be Assimilated. Resistance Is Futile. Give In To The Dark Side. Shirts are sold out, BTW. We got a new one in the works. Patience. Looking forward to seeing all the folks. I need you people to help put some rounds through the Broomhandle to help break it in. It's a pain to load, I need to get some more strippers. One's not enough, especially when it's in storage with the accessory box. That means hold the bolt back with one hand, and stuff bullets with the other. Tiring, but feasible. 7 to 9 it is! It's ON! OOH! My other friend just bought his first handgun. It's a Ruger SRH in .454. I can't wait to shoot it.

First Monday of each month, at Reed's.
September 2nd, 2002 October 7th, 2002 ... Unless and until we change it. Like I said - if anyone can't make it on Mondays, let me know. HRG - looking forward to helping out with your select-grade broomhandle. Did a search and read your detailed post about that piece. I have a CZ-75B and a Glock 17 to try out (just getting started).... you are more than welcome to help me 'break in' these two hanguns. Hope to see more than 4 (+1 in the store) next month, -sven Last edited by sven; August 24, 2002 at 01:11 PM. |
