Ordered some Williams sights for Shorty
I ordered some Williams sights for shorty, seems these have mixed reviews at Cabelas, Seems the dovetail for the front sight on the newer Cabelas Hawkens are bigger and the Williams sight won't work, but going off some info from a review on there seems my rifle measures out right, So hopefully it'll work out. Any of you have these sights? I figure they have to be better than the originals.

Well evidently my measurements were off. I got the sights in and boy are they bright. But the front sight does just what the reviews say it falls right through the dovetail on the barrel. I'm gonna return them. I just painted my front sight with hi vis paint and I'm gonna roll with that. The restocking fee sucks at Cabelas though.

A word of caution on aluminum sights. Aluminum can walk. It may not be a problem with lower velocity black powder, but I had it happen on me once.
