winchester model 1894

I just bought a Winchester model 94 from a good buddy & he told me it was a 1943. I looked into it and found there isn't any information available from 1943 forward a few years due to a fire or loss of documents? I am trying to determine what year this rifle was made and was wondering if any one could help. the serial numbers are as follows, 19773xx
