THR.org offline?

Anyone have any idea what is going on with thehighroad.org?

Hasn't worked for me for the second straight day.

I assume that you mean:

http://www.thehighroad.org/

because THR.org is Texas Health Resources

The High Road is working fine for me.

reportedly a ddos attack.

i can get to it from home but not work.

i have seen posts elsewhere claiming that they are filtering out certain IP addresses to reduce the effect of the attack.

Thanks ilbob. Guess I'm one of the filtered ones at this point.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant thehighroad.org. Thought most were familiar enough with the acronym.

I'm aware of the .us version as well. Thanks.

Due to pending legal issues, I am moving the forum to a new home at TheHighRoad.us ™. This is the same site you've enjoyed, temporarily at a different domain. The same high standards of civility apply. In the near future, we will provide more than just a forum. The High Road(tm) is becoming an information and activism center for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

The new location of The High Road™ -- http://www.thehighroad.us -- will serve our members while the conversion of the .org domain name by THR's former sysadmin is being challenged in court. (Copy of the complaint available here Copies of proof of service available here )

We are simply not going to have that history replayed on TFL. This is one of those emotionally charged, everyone-grab-a-sword disagreements that divides and accomplishes nothing. If you want to knkow the details, you will need to wait until it is back up and go there to read all about it, but not here.

http://thehighroad.us has a full (although obviously somewhat one-sided) public explanation of the dispute.

http://thehighroad.org has, in effect, an information blackout on the issue. Threads mentioning thr.us are typically disappeared.

There are pros and cons of each approach. Draw your own conclusions.

That said, policy at THR.org is dictated by a few; most of the remaining mods are simply trying to better the community by remaining, and do not publically support or disagree with THR.org policy in that regard.
