PAWN SHOP Find

Went to the local Pawn Shop today and in a case was a single shot .45
Cal Kentuky style pistol in what looked to be great shape. I asked to see it because I could not see the price tag (tag said 55.00) I looked it over very carefull and I now own it.......
Now what am I gonna need.....I know it is a .45 cal and I think it is a CVA.
I got it on layaway since I am between paydays and did not want to loose it.

Unfortunately, what you now need to purchase will take as much money as you spent for the gun. Assuming it's a caplock:

.440 round balls
2f or 3f powder, either real black or synthetic (Pyrodex P)
percussion caps
powder measure capable of 50 grains
powder flask or horn
0.010 .45 cal patches (to start, .015, .020 or pillow ticking later)
patch lube (or buy pre-lubed patches)
cleaning patches
short starter
.45 cal cleaning jag
black powder solvent
nipple wrench
nipple pick

And a good tooth whitener as you'll be grinning from ear to ear after shooting it.

Some optional items: ball puller, patch puller, range rod.

I went back and there was a .44 cal cap & ball, I did not even look at the make I just put it on lay-away too, I think it might be a 1858....it has chrome
frame and brass accents and it too was in great shape, looked at the niples and they looked real good, used but not abused. Can't wait until payday

Hmmmm, Shiney....looked chrome but I am not sure, maybe plated.
I know it shined like chrome, the cylinder was nice and tight, no play
and when the hammer was pulled back eveerything seemed to work right.
I will get it out on the 27th and let everyone know.
