Marlin Model 97 takedown .22 cal
Hello. I have an older marlin 22 take down lever action. I am having trouble finding its manufacture date.
Serial Number is 745733. Other than the SN is there more information I can take from the rifle to help find more information about it? Thanks. Roy.

You might not be able to.
While the Model 1897/97 was manufactured from 1897 to 1922, AFAIK, only the first 43,067 were listed in the factory records - which stop in December of 1906. . |

Wow, sounds like the record keeping where I work.
I understand now why I was getting strange responses to my searches. The Winchester searches spoiled me I guess. Thanks for the answer. Roy.
