.243 with Hybrid 100v powder

Hi Guys,
Has any one used Hybrid 100v powder with a .243? I'm contemplating trying it on a Berger 105 grain bullet.

I loaded H100V with a 95 grain SST this last year for my 12 year old son. I don't have the data with me now but it would have been on the low side of the Hodgdon data. Accuracy was quite good and he managed to shoot three does last fall. Needless to say, he was quite impressed with it. I did not chronograph the load but it was one of the few powders available last summer so I decided to give it a try. I've never used the Berger bullets so I can't speak to that.

I loaded Hybrid 100V 42.7g and either Sierra Prohunter 100g or 95 grain Nosler Ballistic tips 0.015" off rifleing and gun shot very good groups and 3000' / second.

I worked up a load with it using the old Nosler 100gr Solid Base for my grandson to use in his Sako. It shot great and is one of the few powders I have used which hit the velocities listed in the data almost to the number.

Another good one to mention, and I know you asked about Hybrid 100, but have to toss this out anyway, is H-4350. I have found it is VERY good with the 100'ish grain bullets in several .243's. So if the Hybrid don't float your boat, you might give some H-4350 a look.

I bought a pound of it awhile back to use for my .25-06 but it will get tested eventually in my 6mm rem and .243.

The burn rate is between H/IMR 4350 and 4831, so that puts it in the "wheelhouse" of alot of mildly overbore cartridges such as .243. Also between Reloader 17 and 19 in burn rate.

It's a "super short extruded" powder so it meters well.

One of the better "medium-slow" burning powders IMO. Give it a try.

PS- I currently use Winchester 760 for my .243 loads. It may not give tip top velocity but it's dang'd accurate in my wife's little Rem model 7 with 85 gr partitions. 760 as well as H4350 are worth trying if you haven't yet.
