Best Complete AR-15 kits on the net?
I've seen ads about model 1 kits but have heard horror stories.
This will be my first gun purchas and also my first gun build. I'm quite excited about it. I just want to know which site has the best price/quality for complete AR |

these guys are good.
lower receiver should be about $100, so if you avoid the thousands of options and upgrades you would be looking at about $625 shipped. http://www.ar15-kits.com/index1.html

Have you bought from them before? How was the quality? Customer service?

You can also check out M&A parts and J&T distributing for complete kits. Don't own either, just throwing out more ideas. I use a BCM upper with an armalite filled dpms lower just fyi.

Just make sure you get a name brand or a respectable lower receiver. We carry doublestar and tactical machine lowers. Tactical machine lowers are really good, they are the flat black and they have been sent to many friends at Quantico... Barrels are from ER Shaw and have DSC markings. The upper receivers are of the same forgings used by many of the top brands. Bolt carriers are chrome lined ( bolt area ) and are properly staked. Many configs are made to order by the factory and all uppers are assembled so the only thing you have to do with the kits are to assemble the parts into the lower, pop the pins and you should be GTG.
Hope that answers some questions... send me a E-mail if you have more. |

Part of the reason to build an AR is to pick individual parts that you prefer. You can also get much better quality parts if you pick them individually.

Glock 19 - yes, and no.
Can you pick better quality parts? Yes, possibly. Will all the parts interact the way you intend them to? Maybe. For that price I'd get the M&P and have a great rifle with a warranty, and better resale value (no "frankengun" sale problem) |
