starline brass...

does anybody know what the heck is going on with starline brass? I've been trying to get some brass from them for months and they've been on back order. I figured it was because the brass i wanted was somewhat specialized but then today i looked on their website and almost every kind of brass they make is on back order. Are they just having a hard time keeping up with demand or are they going by by?!

Demand. Place your order and be patient. You won't be disappointed.

Try Midwayusa.com they carry it. Great people, never had a problem.

I got four or five calibers from them in the last year... had to wait five or six weeks for each one to arrive... what caliber are you trying to get??

I've found the "expected availability" date they post is usually pretty accurate. Worth the wait!

They're a smaller operation, and haven't caught up with their demand needs yet. Place and order and wait. That's about the only way you will get any if you really want them. They stay on backorder for months at a time ... from my experience.

It depends on what you order.

I had some come in 3 months ahead of schedule last year. However, my last order has been pushed back, and pushed back, and pushed back, and pushed back.... I am currently 4 months beyond the expected date.

****Edit:
I take that back. I just double checked my order. I am 4 months beyond the original date, and the next expected date is 4 months in the future! It will be 10 months on backorder, if the brass actually ships at the next expected date.

They are always backordered because the word has gotten out that they make extremely good consistent brass at a price lower than the big guys. You can sometimes get it from Midway or some other online store more quickly but it will be more expensive.

If you're reloading .45acp on a Dillon press with Dillon powder die, watch out. They have trouble digesting Starline .45 acp brass.

No problem though. Starline will modify the flare on your dillon powder funnel, and all will work fine, even with other brass.

I sent mine in with a note, and got it back in about a week. See their web site for details.

I know their 454Casull brass is great. Seems to be top notch quality on the cheap.

Starline

Yeah, they have to get enough back orders for the really special brass before they change tooling for it. Be glad you aren't trying to get 9mm Win Mag brass.
At least they give you an expected date or tell you that they have to get enough back orders to make it profitable.
They seem like really nice people, but they don't like any one bad mouthing their brass without numbers or facts to back it up—they have pride in what they are doing. If you do have a problem, they are very helpful.
