45spl. cowboy brass ?????
Hi all, I went to the range today and found a piece of brass that baffled me. to me it looked like a .45AR but when I looked at the headstamp it said cowboy and 45spl. does this mean that it can be reloaded and fired out of a 45colt pistol? length is .992, rim is .506, inside dia. of the mouth is .445
I dont care if I can reload it or not, I just want to know what it is, what it can be safely fired out of, and what you could use it for Thanks |

It could be a 45 Schofield. It looks just like a 45 Colt only shorter.

One of the SASS shooters had them made up and is selling them. Can't remember who or which forum. But designed for cowboy shooting in the .45 Colt revolvers.

The .45S&W has a larger rim than the .45Colt or .45Spl.
The .45Spl is a special cowboy action shooting case designed so the gamers can use a .45 with powderpuff loads and not have so much empty space in the case. |
