mauser Broomhandle
Hello,
I am looking for a gunsmith that specializes in broomhandle restorations. I have a friend that wants to have matching serial numbers engraved on his model 96 mauser broomhandle. There was a "Redman" in the state of Washington that works on them, also a "Briklee". I can't find info on either of these people. Thanks! willp

The guy has a non-matching gun, and he wants someone to "match" it? I hope you can't find anyone to do it, if that's what he's after. If I've misunderstood, I apologize in advance.

Hey, matching numbers will double the value of the gun. Maybe you could even find someone who would engrave it "Presented in the year 1918 to Kaiser Soze in recognition of valiant service in battle" and a little european coat of arms dealy, as a special presentation gun it could fetch even more.
Sorry if I misunderstand what you want but no gunsmith worth his salt would alter serial numbers on non-FFL parts in a way that would most likely be used to rip off a gun collector.

I will start like everyone, "if I misunderstood, I appologize."
With that said, my impression was the same, it appears the request is to alter to defraud the value of the gun. I hope noone reputable would consider this. |
