BE 86 looks promising, but I haven't been able to get my hands on any around here yet.

My go to plinking 9mm is HP-38 under a 124 gr Xtreme RN plated bullet. I have been using a light load, I may bump the charge up a bit to see what it can do. I heard the rumors about this powder being discontinued, I also heard
they were false. I did just pick up a 4 pound jug of Win-231 and have a pound of HP-38 left, so I should be good for a while. Seriously, I doubt such a popular powder will be discontinued. I also picked up an 8 lb jug of BE-86 because I have been reading good things about it, plus there was just so much of it at the LGS. I have checked out a few BE-86 loads with 124 gr Xtremes, they seem to work well. I still have some more experimenting to do before I decide what charge weight I like best for 9mm.
