1916 Spanish Mauser: 1896 scope mount?

I have a "1916" Spanish Mauser I would like to scope, and was wondering if a mount for the 1896 that replaces the rear sight would work on this 1893 pattern rifle.

I know there are differences between 1893 and 1896 Mausers, but did they change the rear sight? I've looked at B-Square and S & K mounts, but would rather try this one:

I can't say about the SG mount but I've used the B-square on a couple 1916 Mausers. At the time I was trying this idea, B-square made a mount for M98 and a mount for M95-96.
