20 gauges!

They sure shoot nice! I have a Stoger Uplander with the good wood on it 28" SxS and it sure is a pussycat with target loads!
Finally got a small supply of #3 Buck!
Enough to try some out.
It should be nicer than my Home Brew 12 Ga Mossberg/Wards 19"er with Military Buckshot!
I expect about 75% of that kick!!

What do you think?

I have;
Mossburg 500 home defense,
Maverick 88 field barrel(truck gun),
Remington 870 Express Mag w/rifled/cantilevered slug barrel/Omega scope
Remington 870 Wingmaster w/field barrel
Remington 11-87 with field barrel(its my skeet/trap gun)
Pardner single shot.

All are 20's. I dont see the need for anything bigger or smaller and my girlfriend and my kids can shoot them without them getting stomped.

I only shoot clay, for which I use a 12 gauge loaded with 1 ounce (similar to a 16 gauge), but most others I shoot skeet with are using 20, 28, or .410 gauge guns or carrier barrels for skeet. 1 or 1-1/8 seems more popular for trap.

I don't think your 20 will have half the felt recoil of your 12, since the 20 will also be a much lighter gun, but the kick will be considerably reduced.

More.
The 20ga Buckshot shells disappeared for a time around here. the best to do is get the heaviest Phesant load dig shot.
I am slowly looking up net deals too!
I swtill love the short stubby powerhouse Pump>
Everything about it is loud or Noisy! Bam Bam Bam!
I like it cause I made it fit me and no frills Cpt GREAT slip-on recoil pad (Kick-EEZ).
the 20ga weighs about 60% of the riot gun.
With a low kick and lighter weight, the double ought to be easier on my bad Wheels!
I'm excited!
Thanks again!
Happy Holidays all!

Plenty of ammo choices around here for the 20ga. Our LG Shops and Sportsman's Warehouse has pallet loads.

Even Gander has a good choice of buckshot/slugs
