357 recipe
does anyone have a recipe for 357 mag with 125 gr plated berry's bullets and 2400 powder

You can use any midrange jacketed bullet data for these with no problem.

That combination is probably going to either exceed the velocity that the plating can withstand or leave you with a lot of unburned powder.
Are you just trying to shoot what you've got? If so, then working-up from maybe 13.5 grains towards 17.0 grains MIGHT give you something that you can live with. (I can't find anything lower than 13.9 grains in printed data for other bullets, and see that those max-out between 16.5 and 17.5 grains in recent manuals for jacketed 125 grain bullets.) But, be careful, because there is no pressure-tested data that I can fiind for your proposed combination. Watch for squibs at the low end, and for pressure signs to develop as you go higher, because those soft-cored bullets might rivet in the forcing cone and spike pressure. SL1 |
