help identify

Just bought a Rossi 38 special, 5 shot, 2in. barrel, first I thought it was a model 68 and then I thought it was a 88, but I don't know. There is a number in the yoke (678P). I haven't been able to verify this as the model number. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tone, if it has a blued or nickel finish it's probably a Model 68 and if it's stainless it will probably be a Model 88. Hope this helps!

stainless

It is stainless and that is why I think it is an 88, but it looks different than the ones I have seen. I can post a picture if that would help.
