Having trouble with 25-06 cases shaving slivers off of the bullet when I seat them.
Never seen this before and see no way to adjust the die to eliminate this. Is this just a bad die? |

This might be moot but, have you chamfered the case necks? This needs to be done with once fired cases as well as new. Just enough to put a slight bevel on the inside/outside circumferance of the neck.
If your expander ball was undersized chances are you would be crumpling case necks rather than shaving bullets when you went to seat them. [This message has been edited by Contender (edited September 29, 2000).] |

Thanks Contender, yes I have chamfered the necks. I'll put a little more bevel on and see if that's the problem.

scout 1, I too have noticed this with .25-'06 loads. I too also chamfer the inside of the case mouth. I have no good explanation except that I have not noticed any degradation in accuracy. My answer to why this happens---just because !!!!!!!
