S&W 500 question

Question about the two different 8 3/8 barrels. One has the compensator built in (offered with HiViz sight) and the other at the end of the barrel. Does one work better than the other and are the overall lengths the same or is the second one 8 3/8 plus the compensator. S&W catalog list them both with the same OAL but no mention of sight radius. I appreciate any info.

While OA length is the same for both, the P.C. version( fixed comp) has a 7.5'' barrel and thus a slightly shorter sight radius.

That sounds about right. The barrel with the comp in it must have a shorter sight radius if the OAL is the same.
