Beta Master vs. Pro Chrono Digital Chronographs
Hi
Looking at the Midway USA flyer and wanted to check on opinions of a couple of chronographs that are on sale: the Chrony Beta Master and the Pro Chrono Digital. Wanted to get one or the other. Thanks |

Pro Chrono
Digital. Got this one, and I like it. Had one wounded it about six times. (shot the wood dial rods that i used to replace the metal ones) I then shot it dead with a 9 mm. I brought another one, the price had gone up from 89.00 to 119.00. I have wounded this one 4 times. It is strange how easy it is too shot these things when you are trying so hard not too. I saw where a fellow on this forum had gotten one of these for 30.00 dollars at a yard sale, lucky dog. I also have the remote, which i highly recommend, means you don't have to go down range to read it. I love my and live in fear that I will shot it dead, again. Have a nice day! |

I have the Pro Chrono Pal and am very happy with it. The only thing I would do different is getting the remote like the Digital is capable of.
i don't think I can add it with the Pal. The only way to reset the Pal (corrected to say Pal instead of Pro) is to walk out there and hit the reset button. Not so easy when other shooters are present. Dave Last edited by Nowhere Man; September 15, 2010 at 05:32 AM. |

I do string after string with my Pro chronie, and never have to go down range while other shooters are there. I just delete the string and start a new one. The one time I have wanted or needed to go down range when others are there is when I sat it up in the Sun, it works better in the shade. |

I only have experience with the shooting chrony master beta. The unit works fine but the interface is a PITA. So I bought a program and interface called chronocap pc. With the laptop connected, it records every shot and is exportable to a CSV file. But the interface and program cost about as much as the Chrony cost. I did consider getting the printer but I figured it may have been designed by the same people.
Pros: 1. usually captures every shot 2. I have confidence in its accuracy Cons: 1. the interface is not intuitive. * I Had to read the manual every I used it. [* before I got the PC program] Ed |

Get the Alpha Master instead. Easier interface and has the remote display which the Pro Chrono doesn't.
