Shooting brenneke slugs through 835 smooth

Can I shoot Brenneke slugs through the 10 gauge over bored Mossberg 835?
I know they say not to shoot slugs through this barrel, but they seem to have their own rifling. Or is a slug is a slug is a slug?

That's a problem with over-bored 12-ga barrels, they do wonders for shot but are no good for standard 12-ga slugs. Believe me, if Mossberg could avoid the "no slugs warning" they would be more than happy to do so.

If it says don't shoot slugs, don't. Can't imagine why you'd want to shoot a 10 ga. slug though.

Amen, many folks are favoring the lighter 20-ga slugs these days. And, 20s are recommended by the shoulder preservation society of America.

I think the op's talking about 12 ga. slugs here.

The 835 is chambered in 12 ga. but the barrels are closer to 10 ga. I.D.
