40 S&W 180gr SWC load?
Bought some 180gr Bear Creek SWC bullets today and cannot find a suitable load let alone any load info utilizing Unique, Bullseye, or 231...........I have a ton of these powders and want load info on just these powders. These will be used in a CZ40P for practice and plinking only!

I use 3.8 - 4.0 Grains of Bulleye with 180 grain FMJ bullets. In my Beretta 96, 4.0 grains makes the power factor for IDPA with room to spare. I just recently started lowering the charge to see if I could make the power factor with a little lighter load. It shoots well, but I haven't checked it with the crony yet. I have also used 4.0 grains of Bullseye with 180 grain LSWC and it shot well also, but maybe not quite as tight a group as with the FMJ bullets. Good enough for IDPA though.

kidvillain, I've tried several powders in .40, but of those you listed I've only used Unique.
I've used from 5.0 to 5.5 grains of Unique with the same Bear Creek 180 gr. bullet. I settled on 5.1 gr which would reliably make USPSA major power factor in my guns. |
