12ga Hogs
This a feral hog my nephew and tag teamed in 07'. We shot 5 hogs that hunt between us,but this has been the biggest by far. Est weight was over 700lbs. As far as the meat, most was tough to real tough, but the ribs were good. My friend call them Brontosuras ribs. We were hunting in the the thick and didn't have my scoped sabot gun, but my dad's 1959 870 Brushmaster. Shooting lead Foster slugs have plenty of knock down and will fold a hog like a sack of potatoes. This boar soaked up 3 good shots and 3 poor shots, before a shot on his neck changed his mind. 12ga and hogs goes together like Jack and Coke. Going back to OK on hog hunt in early March, watch for new hunting post then.

It looks almost like a domestic that got off the reservation. I'd guess the weight around 300lbs with lots of margin for error.*
Nobody likes me after the fishin' trips either. But when I say my biggest blackie is 6# I'm not tellin' a nose growin' story.

Your right
Hunters are like fisherman unless you were there to see it, it might be suspect.

looks like a domestic pig to me, Bout 400 pounds . Probably a little rank if it had the little dangly ornaments under his curly little tail. ( Curly tail gives it away as a domestic pig, as does the shape of the head and ears.)

SURE that pig could weigh 700 pounds. If the guys behind it are 8-9 feet tall and weigh 500 pounds each

Yep, a domestic that went feral. They do it quite often and that is a nice one. I favor neck shots on hogs personally, and if I don't think I can hit it, I don't take it.

Fat stump
It is some the domestic hog showing thru. That hog had been seen a few times over a couple years, We found him cooling and mudding up in a cattle pond. As far a weight we had no scale, I was a guestimate by a local. I can tell you we had way over 250lbs of meat after it was deboned

Rough math here:
250lbs + 17%(bone and innards)= 300 pound hog minimum |

cut the guys some slack; didn't y'all hear that America has changed its math standard to the OBAMA Standard...the presented results are much, much, much more inflated than what reality is; example: spend money like there's no tomorrow and turn arond and say our national debt will be significantly reduced;
based upon the new standards set by our new illustrious president, these guys used Obama's new math standard to guage their trophy; these poor fellas were taken in by his brilliance and need time to crack the surface and see the tarnished core underneath 'tween 350 and 450 is my vote! |

There is a hog hunting "ranch" of some kind near Pauls Valley, OK that turns out huge domestic hogs for their guests to shoot. Their site has a lot of photos of the successful hunters and their huge floppy eared hogs.
