Stevens model 16

I have a new firing pin for a Stevens model 16, .22 cal. rifle. Does anyone know how the firing pin is retained in the breech? The only exploded view I have of this gun shows either a retaining pin or ball above the firing pin itself.
If its a pin, I dont know how its installed. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!!!

IIRC, your Crackshot's breechblock should have a pin hole in the side, that crosses the FP channel.

The recess in the top of the FP is the home of the pin (the above pic shows the FP upside-down); the length of the recess allows FP movement, back/forth.

The FP is installed in it's channel 1st, then the retainer pin drifted/driven until fully seated.
Make sure the FP is free to move, after install.
