No personal experience with it, but a lot of people swear by H335 for the 223Rem.

The search function is a great tool BTW.

This almost sounds like too easy a question--Hodgdon's H335. It's a spherical powder--tiny little balls. Burns clean? I suppose that's a relative question. I have had terrific luck with it.

I say "too easy a question" because H335 is probably the most commonly used powder for .223. At least, it sure seems to be that way to me.

My best results have been with W748. H335 is good too. I think the W748 shoots cleaner and it seems to be a little more accurate in my rifles.

2230-C, if you can find it. Otherwise H335.

I used to like 748 for the .223 among other applications, but I get more consistent performance from H-335 in both bolt and AR loadings.

I use W748 and H335 and like them both. I tried BL(C)2 and didn't care for it as much.

I believe that H335 is a bit cleaner than 748 or BLC2, but TAC is far cleaner than all of them and it seems to keep copper fouling down as well.

Hey, someone else came out of the "Dark Ages" and is using the new and improved powders of today's reloading world. Not only is Tac extremely clean burning it also has an "Anti Coppering Agent" that cuts down on copper fouling.
Put aside the powders of yesteryear and step up to the new age of powders, Ramshot.

I agree with Steve4102. Just tried Ramshot TAC & so far I love it. Minimal smoke, burns clean & accurate. Let me get a couple hundred rounds out the pipe to make a final judgement on it tho.
Been shooting H335, BLC2 & W748 for years & I still like them.
