ruger mark 3 .22 question

ok i think the internal lock is set and to unlock it the safty has to be on. to put the saftey on the hammer has to be cocked but to do that you have to pull back the slide and it wont come back. i think the internal lock is what is preventing me from moving the slide. can anyone share some info on how i might fix this???

Usually when you are unable to fully retract the bolt on a Ruger .22 LR pistol, it is because of improper reassembly after field stripping it.

Field strip the pistol and reassemble it, making sure the hammer strut is positioned properly before reinstalling the mainspring housing.
