Question on Glock 17 rnd mag

I picked up a hi cap glock magazine today at a flea market. It's a 9mm mag. The question I have is: it is not fully lined with metal. Also no lug sticking out of the floor plate. And also a different shaped notch at the back near the feed lips. I assume its a factory mag since the floor plate and mag body are glock stamped. How old is the mag and are they reliable?

My guess is a mag from a Gen 1 pistol

Sounds like a non fully metal lined mag.
Should be reliable.

The non-drop-free/non-full-metal-lined mags have a round notch at the back instead of a squared notch, and the oldest ones didn't have a floorplate retainer. The floorplates were held in place by the lugs on the sides of the magazine and the notches in the floorplate.

They are just as reliable as the new mags, in my experience, as long as they are in good condition. The only real difference is that they will tend to stick in the gun unless they're empty. That is, they don't eject cleanly if they still contain a significant number of rounds.

And, I believe they sell for a premium in states which still suffer under "assault weapon" bans and mag capacity limits...they are pre-ban.
