Ruger Rings

Who makes the best Ruger compatible rings?

Also, in your experience, do these need lapped? This is for a Ruger #1.

Leupold makes them

Most rings now don't really need lapping

Not sure if they make them for your model Ruger BUT my recommendation for scope mounts is Talley. They are a combination mount/ring machined from aircraft aluminum. They are light and extremely well made. I have a set on my Ruger 10/22, Weatherby Vanguard, and am about to order a set for my T/C Venture.

I saw a post from a long-time gunsmith on some forum (can't remember which) which said that of all the rings he has ever installed, Ruger's required the most lapping. That doesn't mean they are bad rings, just that their production methods don't get things as smooth and clean as other manufacturer's.
