Arminius SA .357mag, good or bad?

wanting to get into cowboy shooting at my home range. i am on a budget and i have found an interesting gun. the pic is close but not a match. dont know much about it other than its arminius and .357/.38. the action is sooo smooth to me but i havent ever fired one. it has about a 5 inch barrel (guestimate)maybe longer. six shot and the wooden grips are missing a medalian i believe. the finish is not really blued it's kind of marbled like zinc coated screws only dark. it has fixed sights. the shells go into the cylinder through a "door" of sorts and are ejected one at a time with a rod back out the way they came in. any of you have any idea what it is and what its worth? will it be good for a not-so-serious-but-wants-to-have-fun-always-wanted-one type guy? how can i tell if its in good shape(it looks fine)?
