Remington Model 722 Problem?

I recently acquired a Remington Model 722 in .222 caliber. I was showing it to my father in law the other day and he told me he remembers these models (722 and 721) were known to have a problem with the safety mechanism. Has anyone heard of this?

The best thing is to call Remington and ask. There was a problem with Remington safties and they had to be sent back to the factry to be fixed ,no charge . I,m sure they kept track of the SN# that they fixed and would be able to tell you if yours has been repaird .
