Peltor tactical 6s help

I just bought a pair of these from someone slightly used. He told me the batteries were not in them, but I never asked how/where to put the batteries. I've tried everything I can think of that doesn't seem destructive. I'm probably going to feel stupid when I'm told how to do it. Someone please help.

thanks, Steve

Very carefully pop off the ear cups and the battery compartments will be made known to you. You may have to use a fine bladed screwdriver or the like to pop the cups off.

IIRC, two AAAs per side.
