liquid front sight insert

A number of years ago Brownells sold a liquid front sight insert kit. It came with the usual flouresent red, yellow, orange and green and then white. You cut a dovetail area out of the front sight blade and then the insert was a two part mixture of the color powder and a liquid hardner. This was then put into the cut dovetail via a paper/cardboard damn. Once it set up it was then filed to final shape. One of the other advantages was that you could out line the rear sight as well, and it held up better than "paint" on the rear sight. I have not been able to find it recently.

Anyone know if this is still available? If so from where?

If not, what is the experience with the colored plastic inserts?

I believe they do, you may need to call them and ask. Also try MidwayUSA and Numrich Gun Parts.

mtnboomer, thanks, but no success. Tried Brownells, Midway and Numberic, none listed. I wish I could remember the manf of the sight kit. Or maybe it is unavailable for a good reason, which I would like to know. My success with it was good. again, thanks for the input.
