Browning - BAR

I have the BAR, short trac, and I noticed a design flaw.

The magazine release is very similiar to the trigger.
The shape, the location, etc.

Any body notice this ?

I've found that if I put my hand on the pistol grip first, my trigger finger can't reach outside the trigger guard to any kind of mag release located forward of the guard...

However, I can see how it could be mistaken by feel, when moving the hand to the rear from a balance point carry.

So don't do that.

Never noticed it, but I shoot lefty... And I don't own any left-handed guns.

I just purchased a left handed short trac in 270 wsm, and I think the mag release is clever and well done-my only issue is it is made out of plastic
Who woulda' thought Browning would use plastic, otherwise a very sweet gun, shoots 1.5 moa @100 yds with factory ammo
