Is the price right?
I am currently deployed as a contractor in Afghanistan. The unit I work for is doing a deal with SIG for their "deployment guns". I'm looking at a SIG 516 Patrol with black furniture for about $1200. I've been out of touch for a while being out here so I'm wondering what the market looks like for M4's right now. The Bud's website says the last one sold for something like $1700.
I'm also wondering if the 516 is a good rifle. I've read a few reviews and have not seen any big issues with the firearm but I was wondering if anyone had any info for me. Thanks |

Sorry, they are a deal direct from the Sig factory and will have laser etched unit insignia and something about the time frame spent here in Afghanistan.
I'm not too worried about it being a memento, the etching is just gravy on a platform I already wanted to buy (M4 rifle, not specifically the brand). |

Come back to America and $1200 will hardly get you a DPMS. MSRP on the 516 patrol is $1,666. On Gunbroker they start at $1,400 and there are people actively bidding over a grand just for the upper.
Seems right to me. |

Just picked one up a week ago.
I just picked up that same model brand new last week for $1,599.00. Haven't had the chance to get out an put any rounds down range with it yet.

Thanks for the replies. I have been given clearance from Department of Treasury (the wife) to get the 516 and the sig 1911 TACPAC, both engraved. I'm a very lucky man.
