I've always had good luck with Breakfree, but I'm open to trying something new.

Call me skeptical......but I am always nervous about offers like this. As of last post he had over 160 bites; thats over $1200.00 in FREE product not including shipping costs. I will have to sit back and hear out the reviews. If it works, I will buy it and go from there. Sorry I'm so skeptical about anything "free". Please don't take offense, as this is just my humble opinion.

no offense taken
No offense taken at all.
You have to be willing to invest in your product/beleif to reap a return. Sure, we are setting up again to advertise in S.W.A.T. Magazine as well as COP, American Handgunner, Shooting Industry, and others...but NOTHING speaks as loud as WORD-OF-MOUTH, and especially if you're willing to give it to folks to try at a NO RISK offer (free) to them. In 2002 I did the same thing with FP-10 and it was enormously successful. Why wouldnt I be willing to put some of my advertising budget in the good people of "The Firing Line" rather than a magazine ad that maybe 30-40% of the readers will see (and then what...maybe 20% order?) If I GIVE it to you and it's ALL that I said it is....well...nuff said. Although I take no offense at all, I clearly do not understand "Freebiephobia". Actually, this is the first time I may every have experianced it. Now...if I were giving away $100 bills..... Best regards, George

George,
I think the "freephobia" comes from the old "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is". Which is, of course, generally true and a good rule of thumb. I tend to be pretty suspicious and wonder where the "hook" is when I'm looking at the bait so I can see how someone would be wondering -why- anyone would offer their product for free. So to (hopefully) help put some suspicions to rest I'll take the liberty of pointing out how this particular round of test samples came to exist. (George, please correct me if I'm making false connections here). Basically I was discussing lubrication on a used firearm I had purchased over in this thread "What Lube Is This?" and had begun reporting my experience. George chimed in about his product vs others and I said "hey, send me a little bit and I'll willingly do a real world use test and report back to the group". George was willing, and in fact went far beyond that with his open offer as detailed on this thread. Hopefully this clears up any concern about why he's offering free product. We get to try something new and he gets word of mouth if we're pleased with the results. Heck even if we aren't pleased he gets very valuable feedback on any potential issues. |

Update
All who have sent emails requesting samples have been fulfilled to date and in the mail. Be expecting it in the next couple of days in a manilla bubble pack shipping envelope, which contains the handy 1 ounce bottle (with twist cap), ideal for your shooting bags and such. These bottles are also designed to fit in the buttstocks of the M-16s, A-4s and the like. Enjoy.
The offer is still on until Friday the 20th of this month. Best regards, George

Run OUT?
Already sent, 74cameroman. We wont run out...like the Cheetos people...we'll make more
Also, I am a member of the 1911forum, the ar15forum, gunsmith.com and others, but this is my favorite forum and decided to only make this offer here at The Firing Line (plus, Denny Hansen and Rich Lucibella are good friends and awesome people). So if you have any friends or you yourself are a member of the other forums, let them know that they can participate here if they too are members or become one. I'm not going from forum to forum as I did before, but it's available to all who want to try it right here. Once again, thanks to all of you who have participated so far. I'm sure there will be plenty more to come. Best regards, George

Mr. Fennell, I would like to take you up on your kind offer.I had been using FP10 on my firearms, but found the product just as Shooters Choice began marketing it. I believe this was close to your departure. [really missed your online discussions] Over the past year and a half I have been buying, shooting, and carrying H+K P7 series pistols. Because of their gas piston operation, and mechanical complexity, I once again find myself adding to the "chemical cabinet".[much like the holster drawer]. I have been using "Ezzox" and am quite impressed with it, but am always on the lookout to improve protection. Thank you

Good to see you back, George. TFL was the first internet gun forum I joined, and still the best place around.
I've been offline for quite awhile, and recently tried to locate you through "others" with no luck. I hope the new venture works out great for you, George. Glad to see you're driving on. Guys, if Weapon Shield is better than FP-10 CLP, then we're all in luck. I've been wanting to do some more testing and reviews as I still have lots of other products lying around, so when I get time I'll get some ordered and try it out and post the results. Welcome back to you too my friend. Just sent you a pm. You, more than anyone knows my agenda; which is to bring the best of the best to everyone, and most importantly to our LE Offices and Soldiers. As I always said:
"Reliability is our first concern...there is no room for weapon dysfunction when officers and soldiers lives are on the line." And that's a fact. Best regards, George

I have a question. Suppose this stuff is good and we like it. Will we be able to buy it by the quart/1/2 gal/gal?
Break free is good, but I always hated them for doling it out in teeney over priced bottles... |
