Fore end question on my 870 rem.

I have developed arthritis in my hands and have a hard time gripping the fore end of my 870 pump. I would like to put a strap on the under side of the fore end that I could slip my hand into.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Purchase a cheap sling (or, perhaps, any 1" - 1 1/4" wide piece of nylon webbing). Cut off a small piece and attach one end to the front attachment point of the gun, as you normally would. Fold the other (cut) end over and sew it on to form a loop. That should do it.

Google 870 fore end strap and you will get some pretty deailed instructions how to fasten a strap to yours. Another option is to get a pistol grip fore end like the old Tommy Guns. Is your for end wood or synthetic?

I have both wood and synthetic on two of my 870's.

The reason I asked if you had wood or synthetic is it may be easier to screw into wood. Here is a commercial plastic forend with a strap. http://www.tapco.com/products/images...K55301_AV1.jpg

I like the one shown in the bottom photo here. The guy did attached his strap. http://www.rem870.com/2009/11/13/rem...comp_follower/

I also attached a pic of the forend strap I installed. I saw one on a moss I had to have it! It is nothing like the moss version, I did this my self & cut slots in to the forend & used sling screws on the strap.
If you google 870 fore end strap you will get ideas of how to make something.

It's going to cost more, but maybe you should go to a semi.

Thank you for your responses. My friend made one for himself out of a nylon strap and it's looks professional. He said he would make one for me. How lucky can a guy get.
Thanks again.
